Required Textbook (purchased separately):
Kingdom of the Cults by Walter Martin
Fulfills: General Elective

In today’s religious pluralism, Christianity is being challenged by the rapid proliferation of cult ideology. The spread of alien philosophies originating from the east, west, and the New Age have required that Christians be equipped to guard Christianity’s most precious essential doctrines from syncretism and critical distortion. This course will be dedicated to bringing awareness to the student of cult history, origin, leadership, theology, and evangelistic techniques. Moreover, upon completion of this course, the student will be familiar with the principles of biblical research and analysis of cultic structures and the most appropriate measures for evangelism. High profile cults such as Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Unitarians, Mind Sciences, Eastern Cults, New Messiahs, New Age, and evangelism to these cults will be addressed.
