Many Christians affirm that the Bible is true. At Calvary Chapel Bible College, we go a step further.
We believe the Bible is not only true, but powerful. Not only authoritative, but sufficient.
That’s why one of our core values is simple and foundational: We search the Scriptures.
This isn’t just a belief, it’s a posture. We come to the Word of God with reverence, with expectation, and with the conviction that it is still living and active today.
The Bible Is Sufficient for Life and Godliness
We don’t treat Scripture as one spiritual authority among many. We believe it is enough.
As Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 3:16–17, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
God’s Word is not just historically accurate or morally insightful. It is the God-breathed revelation that prepares us for every good work. That’s why we bring our deepest questions—about identity, calling, ethics, purpose, and culture—straight to the Word.
The Bible Is Powerful and Alive
The author of Hebrews writes, “The Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword…” (Hebrews 4:12). At CCBC, we believe that Scripture doesn’t just inform—it transforms.
It comforts the brokenhearted and confronts the self-assured. It renews the mind and pierces the heart. It reads us as we read it.
We don’t search the Scriptures as an academic exercise alone. We search them because we believe the living God meets us there.
Bringing Our Questions to the Word
In a world full of confusion and contradiction, it’s easy to rely on opinion, emotion, or cultural voices to navigate life. But we believe the Bible speaks to our world—not just the ancient world.
That’s why we train students to bring their personal questions and cultural questions to the Bible. We ask things like:
- What does the Bible say about anxiety, sexuality, justice, identity, or purpose?
- What does Scripture teach us about how to live faithfully in a post-Christian culture?
- How do we respond to the brokenness in our churches and the pain in our world?
We don’t avoid tough topics. We bring them to the light of God’s Word.
Forming Students to Be Lifelong Inquirers
At CCBC, our goal is not just that students gain biblical knowledge—it’s that they leave with biblical instinct.
We want our students to graduate with the reflex to ask, “What does the Bible say?”
And not just to ask—but to know how to search.
We equip students with the tools to read Scripture carefully, interpret it faithfully, and apply it wisely. Our prayer is that they become people who, for the rest of their lives, will open the Bible with humility and expectation—ready to inquire of the Lord.
The Bible is Central at CCBC
The Bible is not just a subject we teach. It’s the foundation of everything we do. It’s our primary textbook, our central authority, and our greatest delight.
We don’t just read it for answers. We read it to hear from God.
If you’re hungry to know God’s Word, to build your life on its truth, and to become someone who turns to Scripture in every season, we’d love to walk with you.
At Calvary Chapel Bible College, we search the Scriptures—because in them, we find Jesus, and through them, we hear His voice.
