The Bachelor of Biblical Studies is a 4-year degree that is designed to prepare students for life, ministry, and academics through courses in exposition of the whole Bible, in-depth Bible book studies, Foundational topics such as Bible Study Methods and Theology, Spiritual Formation and Ministry Development, as well as General Education from a Biblical worldview. This degree is intended to provide a Biblical foundation for students that would equip them to serve in lay or professional ministry and prepare them for graduate level studies in Bible and ministry.

Course Details

Through courses in Bible core, ministry  formation, and general education, this program’s purpose is to help students deepen their knowledge of God and equip them to serve Him through a comprehensive study of the Bible.. This degree is intended to provide a Biblical foundation for students that would equip them to serve in lay or professional ministry and prepare them for graduate level studies in Bible and ministry.

Program Learning Outcomes

Bachelor of Biblical Studies (BBS*) Outcomes:

1. Exhibit knowledge of the Bible, theology, and the essence of the gospel by interpreting, applying, and communicating Scripture in ways that strengthen relationship with God. (ILOs 1 and 2).

2. Apply biblical insight and Christ-like values to various aspects of Christian practice, work, human relationships, and ministry as a foundation for life (ILOs 2 and 3).

3. Articulate knowledge of the major domains of general studies in light of a biblical worldview (ILO 2).

Going Deeper

The Bachelor of Biblical Studies (BBS) program consists of 120 credits. Its purpose is to help students deepen their knowledge of God and equip them to serve Him through a comprehensive study of the Bible. This program provides a foundation for various aspects of students’ lives, including family, career, ministry, employment, and further education.

Graduating students demonstrate their learning through scripture summaries, comprehensive exams and papers on Christian theology, and active involvement in serving others, including at least one Evangelistic Outreach.

The curriculum includes eight core Bible classes, representing different sections of the Bible, along with foundational courses in Theology, Bible Survey, verse-by-verse studies of Bible books, and Practical Christian Ministry.

Additionally, students are required to complete a minimum of 36 semester credits in general studies courses, with at least six credits in each of the following categories: English Communication & Critical Thinking, Humanities & Fine Arts, Natural Sciences & Mathematics, and Social & Behavioral Sciences.

The BBS program is designed for transfer students and adult learners who already have at least 30 transfer or prior learning credits, allowing them to complete their degree.
